generosity and scrapping at the retreat...

I always enjoy the Wave Rock Retreat...I get to teach and also get some scraping done while enjoying the company of some great women...always well organised with a great shop...and superb food...

I was collecting UNDIES again for my Children of the Forest UNDIE DRIVE...and these generous ladies donated 150 pairs of undies!

And Karen donated the proceeds of one raffle to pay for postage...thanks so much...so the undies are already on their way to Thailand...

And ON TOP OF THAT...these ladies raised more than $1000 for Breast Cancer...AMAZING!

But I will not thank the police man who pulled Sharon over....because then a few minutes later he booked me! Yes I was speeding but it is in the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE....aaaaaaaargh....or should I say it is not nowhere but you can see nowhere from it!!!

Aside from that it was a great weekend! Here are the layouts I did over the 3 days... from Gayle's classes...and from Karen's class...And the other ones I did...my aim is to power scrap...get lots done...and use all my pretty pattern papers! Not 100% happy with them all but into the album they go...Lissy

Here are the layouts from the classes I taught at the Wave Rock Retreat...the first class was All in the Past...heritage layouts...well my version of...and YES my lettering is CROOKED...aaaaaaaargh! It kept falling off and moving and now it is stuck really well but crooked!
And the other class I taught was Rising Stars...scrapping all those terrible sports photos...I will share the layouts I did at the retreat soon...Lissy

pink...and the retreat...

Today was PINK day at school to raise money for Breast Cancer... And over the weekend at the Wave Rock Retreat the girls raised over $1000 for breast cancer!

Fabulous job girls! Lissy

i have travelled this road all my life...

And only early this year did I notice this little boab tree...Has any one else seen it???

I did think of having a competition to tell me where it is but I shall tell you...

It is just east of Gorge Rock near Rogers Rd...on the left as you are heading towards Konidinin...

I wonder how it got there...Lissy

tooth fairy...

And now for the visit from the tooth fairy...so after Evangeline sobbed her self to sleep over the lost tooth...

She was up before 6 am and delighted to find the tooth fairy had been to visit...green water (current favourite colour) and fairy dust left behind...And $2 and some trinkets...it is not an expensive bracelet but the tooth fairy will add a little charm for each tooth lost! Bargains from ebay...And a tiny wee letter complete with stamp and wax seal...it came with a magnifying glass as you need it to read it!From the tooth fairy herself saying how well Evangeline was looking after her teeth and that they positively sparkle! And still a couple of days later she doesn't like to hear the word tooth as it makes her sad!! Lissy

morning bella...

What a gorgeous sight...getting up to see a pretty pony in the paddock...and of course we had to go out and say good morning Bella! 6.36 am Sunday...She is settling into her new life beautifully...Lissy

tooth...

Well as if today wasn't exciting enough...tonight at bedtime Evangeline lost her FIRST tooth...yes she is 7 in a month and has only just lost a tooth...She has been patiently cleaning them for the tooth fairy for years and has been so excited since it got wobbly...Here is the wobbly tooth this afternoon...And once it was out...She wrote a letter to the tooth fairy...And got everything organised...She was very very excited...Then she was into bed and has been crying...she is sad that she has lost her tooth she said as it reminds her of being a baby...and she wants to know how she will remember her tooth...and she wants to know what the tooth fairy will do with her tooth...hopefully she will stop sobbing soon and go to sleep! Lissy

first ride...

Evangeline had her first ride on Bella at home this afternoon...she brushed her and helped saddle her up...It was not a long ride but she enjoyed it all the same! The stirrups need more holes to shorten them so I think she felt a bit wobbly...The photos are not great as I was holding on to the lead rope...just to be on the safe side for the first ride...Lissy

bella...

Beautiful little Bella has come to our place...her "proper" name is Blossom Park Fireflight...but her stable name is Bella...She is a 3 year old X Welsh pony and is so super quiet....she still need some education but should make a superb child's pony... at 12.1 hands she is a great height as soon Evangeline will be able to get on herself...and a nice size for the girls grooming her too...

This week has been busy fixing fencing, gathering up some pony gear and getting ready to go and collect her today! We went to see her last weekend and loved her straight away...she will be on trial for the week but I cannot see that we will send her home!Evangeline has been counting sleeps! And Morganne keeps talking about fixing the fence for the pony! Evangeline was up and dressed at 5.45 am...

Bella is settling in well...she has already had lots of pats and been lead around lots! Later today we will have a ride!Evangeline is thrilled....But not so much with the smells! And Morganne is pretty enthralled too...she keeps saying the horsey is hungry! And today my nephew Ace is 12! Happy Birthday Ace!

And stay tuned for more horsey stuff soon...It is so nice to have a pony araound here again...Lissy

this girl...

This girl misses her daddy...She is a sensitive thing...she cries when she knows he is going the next day...she cries when he wakes her to say good bye...she cries if he doesn't...she cries if she sees his plane fly over...she cries if she misses it...

After a day or so she is ok...and a phone call usually helps...

They clash personality wise a bit but they love each other! She loves it when he tells her special stories at night...

She said when she misses daddy she goes and looks at his stuff in the bedroom! Poor thing! Lissy

this is what you get...

This is what you get in our house...when you ask for a cubby house...or tree house...do you think we should have got planning permission! Ben has done it all himself though his dad did come for a day to help with the tin...It is Broome Style...where Ben and I met and lived before we were married...lots of buildings are built of tin...here is Sun Pictures in Broome...it is still there and you sit outdoors in deckchairs...Ben went back to work yesterday...so the cubby will have to be finished when he gets home in 5 weeks...it still needs pickets around the veranda, an internal wall and a ladder to the look out...
and a rope tackle to haul supplies up!

I meant to answer the winner on October 1st...running a bit late as it is a bit frantic around here with the construction and school holiday happenings!

I must admit it would be hard to guess...so Evangeline decided the winner is Lorene S who said...Is it where the Fairies Live !!!!!

As we have built it next to the Fairy Tree and will call it Fairy Heights! Thought I think it will out live us...so maybe it can be a Chicken Coup in it's next life! Lorene can you email me your address please!

Evangeline was over the moon when Mum gave her an Anne of Green Gables hat from her travels to Canada...it is our favourite story...We love the DVDs with Megan Follows...and mum gave us the books to start reading too...Ike looked cute too! And I sprung Morganne making herself a drink the other day!

Lots of other things going on like birthday parties and catching up with friends...but I have not been taking many photos...and school starts again next week! Lissy
