around here...

All is well ...Ben left early this morning to go back to work....this was a few days early so my kitchen which was due to go in on Monday will have to wait another couple of months....grrrr....

He has been busy this last week pulling out the tree stumps of trees that have died in last couple of years...the last one has proved a tough job...it is HUGE!>
E, M and I went out for breakfast with my sister, mum and the boys...at Taylors Studio in Upper Swan...yummy as always...

seven months old...

Today Morganne is seven months old...She is sitting up and is very pleased with herself and happy to play...she does not like vegetables and so on...you would think you were feeding her something quite revolting the way she carries on! Her mouth clamps shut, she gags and tries to spit it out! But she opens wide for fruit and will eat yoghurt and cereal...She loves seeing what is going on and playing with other kids...Ace (her cousin) loves to spend time with her... He has been staying with us a few days this week. Her clothes are size O and some Size 1...I will get her weighed and measured next week. She loves babbling away and blowing raspberries...and she makes a lip smacking sound when you say kiss! She loves the bath. She has a bit of ezcema which bothers her but it is not too bad. Her eyes are looking more brown now...and she has two teeth...and needless to say we think she is adorable! And here is our scruffy dirt magnet E...she has had a few play days with friends this week as it is the school holidays!
I am having trouble with blogger so shall finish for now and post again soon - Lissy

Children of the Forest

Have you heard of it...Children of the Forest

It is a small charity based in Thailand...providing a school and a home for Karen, Mon and Burmese refugee children in Sangkhlaburi, near the Thai-Burmese border...

We sponsor a young girl called Porpoyyii (pronounced Por...po...yee)

I have been gathering school supplies and clothing to send to the home and school. They have children from 3 - 16 years. There is also another home in Sangkhlaburi for 0 - 7 year olds. I have sent a few parcels so far and figure we have such an abundant life that it is easy to spare a few dollars each week for these children.

I would love to visit one day...

so...

Not a lot going on this week...we did get a new bed...and that is blissful as we have been sleeping on a combination of two old beds...not good! And so now I am sleeping wonderfully...

Evangeline had her class assembly items this week....a penguin song and a snow flake song...followed by Eskimo bread for morning tea. They have been studying polar regions.
Ben and E went off to the farm for a few days so Morganne and I are having a lovely time together. She slept well the last two nights so I am feeling a lot more energetic...

So I sorted out most of their clothes, getting the summer ones sorted and putting away the ones that are too small etc...going through the baby toys for Morganne and sorting presents I am gathering for birthdays coming soon...cooking up some baby food...and making head way in my room too...I am sorting out my sewing stuff that has been in tubs and is now going into a rather cute cupboard...And I have been trying out paint colours for the kitchen, the girls rooms and the playroom...

We went to mum's for tea on Friday night and tonight mum is coming over here. Things are easy with just one baby! Anyway I hope you are all having a lovely weekend...Lissy

our month...

We have had a busy month here while off line...nothing overly exciting happening but it is good to update for my reference...
We had our fifth wedding anniversary on June 1st...Ben was away but Mum and I went out for breakfast with Evangeline and Morganne to celebrate!
Morganne turned 6 months old ( she is now 6 1/2 months)...and she is changing so much each day...

She has two teeth! She like fruit (banana, pear and apple) and will eat some veges like pumpkin carrot and parsnip...and I am trying to work on other things! She is almost sitting up by herself and I need to give her more time on her tummy! We bought a mat for the floor so now it is warmer and not so slippery for her to wriggle about on and start crawling. She is getting pretty clingy at the moment and cries if I disappear. But she still is mostly a very happy little thing. She has had another cold but is over that now. She is very curious about goings on around her and will crane her head around to see what is going on. She can use two hand to pick things up now and will try and get anything in her reach. My hair and glasses are fair game at the moment. She is about 9.1kg and 66cm long. I am still not sure what colour her eyes are going to be...but her hair seems to be getting lighter.
Evangeline is four and a half and going well and growing too...109.5 cm and about 20.8kg...clothes I thought were far to big this winter now fit her! She has had ear infections and a cough so has not been swimming. She has had a few play days with friends...at Whiteman Park, here and friends homes...And she had a dance recital....She is a busy beaver as always making and doing stuff and playing with Morganne...Ben came home a couple of weeks ago...We have had family visiting and Ace and Ike have both had sleepovers here...and been to visit Kaysie and Felicity...
We have been to friends places for fabulous meals...Eggs Benedict at Alli's....delcious...and a roast at the Albans...
I watched all the 6 seasons of Sex and the City having never seen it on TV, before going to the movies with some girlfriends last week. And I rather enjoyed it all. I am trying to get used to my new computer and new programs on it...And I have been busy gardening including planting the vegies...
Yesterday we went to Evangeline's school open classroom. It is great to see what work she is doing...And that is about it around here...I am having trouble with blogger so not many pics in this post...and hopefully this will publish OK! Lissy

finally...

Finally after a LONG time we are back online...I am not happy with Bigpond...I got very irritated with people suggesting I try and get a signal again in a couple of hours!

And one guy on the tech support phone actually suggested I take my modem for a drive with a lap top in the car and try it out else where...I said I could but there would be no power for the modem...doh! He suggested I go and buy an in car thing for this experiment...I said I would not! Finally the other day they sent a new modem and we are up and running! YAY!

And thanks for all the messages and queries as to how we all are while we were "gone"...we are fine but glad to be back in cyberspace! I shall update soon...Lissy
