end of the holidays...

We have had a quieter week this week...a few days at home...and a couple of outings...

E went to a friends house for a bit of a play on Thursday while I went to look at tiles for the kitchen...For ANZAC day we went to Alli's...I had a relaxing time with Alli and Michael and the kids had a busy time playing!

E has been very busy scooting around and "doing tricks" on her scooter!

Morganne does her usual... time on the mat, time in the play gym, time in the jolly jumper and in her bumbo chair! She still has a bit of a cough but is a lot better. E has been writing an invitation for a friend to come and play...I wrote it for her to copy...I have new winter hats for the girls....from Etsy...the two flower ones are by The Portland Beanie Company and the pixie hat is from Plonka...so cute and fabulously made...I have been cleaning...trying to clean up my paper work, computer desk and scrap counter...it is nearly done....

Ben gets home tomorrow from Denmark...and my friend Jo is coming for tea tonight so I had better go and cook something! A lasagna is the plan! Hope you are having a good weekend - Lissy

week two...part one...

And onto week two of the holidays...

Ben is in Svendborg, Denmark...as in Europe...for training again this week...a long way to go! Pity it is bad timing for a family holiday...again!

We are at home more this week as we are getting over coughs and so on...and we are all pretty tired after a very busy week this week!

We did a lot of gardening on the weekend before Ben left...well mainly cleaning up weeds and leaves and so on...more of that to do yet but hopefully onto some more interesting gardening soon...but more weeks seem to be popping up everywhere...the weather has been really rather nice...a little cool at night but nice days to be outside...and plenty of rain...hence the weeds! We are still trying to reduce the garden size so it is more manageable...and less thirsty...there are two garden beds I am removing...And we have too much lawn but I am at a loss as to what to do instead as I do not want more garden and there are already a lot of paths and paving...Has anyone got any ideas??

I am trying Morganne on some food...baby rice...she is a big baby and feeding every couple of hours in the day and not much better at night...she watches us eat and "chews" away so I figure she might be ready...not that she looks overly impressed...lol...but she has had a couple of spoonfuls quite happily...

I am too tired to be very creative at the moment although I have printed off some photos...and have thought about doing some sewing...but have been cleaning and such instead...no brain power required for that! It is wet again today so maybe after I get the ironing done I shall do something...

My printer is dying...says it needs a service...so guess it is time to get a new one since it has already had one service and a repair job a couple of years ago and is well used...I am surprised my computer is still working too...maybe this month it can be replaced!

Anyway, I hope you are having a good week - Lissy

week one...

The first week of the school holidays has been and gone...and boy were we busy....my sister and family were in Perth for a few days so the kids had lots of time playing and a trip to the zoo...and getting totaly worn out!We had a play day with Alec and Riley at Whiteman Park...We took out some of the kitchen cupboards...did some cementing and put in a new cupboard and stove top...lots more to do yet...just trying to pick some tiles...need to paint, get a range hood and handles put on...then in a month or so will tackle the main part of the kitchen and the floor...E loves to help!Morganne is loving the jolly jumper...unfortunately she has had a throat infection so has not been very well...
E is still loving playing with her! M is getting more interactive every day which is great...
Here is Ben and the girls one morning...
And M and Ben watching footy...lol...same hair...lolAnd I did manage a couple of layouts!
Now we are onto week two...more play dates and such...but at home as we are staying put with Morganne still having a cough...Lissy

four months old...

Today Morganne is four months old...she was weighed and measured yesterday and is 8.05 kg and 64 cm...and in size 0 clothes mostly now...so a rather large baby and delightful in every way...She really is an easy baby so long as she is fed and gets her sleep...she has a cold at the moment but is still a happy little thing...she is drooling a fair bit and chewing things so I am wondering if this is the start of teething already...her head control is very good so we may be able to try out the jolly jumper soon...

She is starting to interact with Evangeline and reach out for us so that is lovely...she can hold her head up well on her tummy and is trying to roll a bit so I must give her more time on the mat to do this...she is avidly watching us eat and following the spoon to our mouths so I think she will dive into eating in a couple of months...we have lots of chats and smiles and laughs...

And she is getting easier to photograph! So despite the lack of sleep I am one lucky mum - Lissy

brown eyes...blue eyes....

I am thinking Morganne will certainly have brown eyes....this is her now.....her eyes are quite dark...
and Evangeline at the same age....her eyes were already very blue...
Today I went to Garden Week with my sister in law, eldest niece and Morganne...it was rather interesting to have a look around...and a perfect Autumn day to be outside...24C...Evangeline was home with her other cousin playing...so a good day had by all...a great start to the school holidays - Lissy

autumn days...

We are having a lovely autumn...days of 20 - 25C...perfect for afternoon walks, which is great after such a hot summer...it has also actually been the wettest April since 1926....as we have had some very wet days too...just not lots of them......E ran most of the way on our walk! And I have been scrapping again! This one I am really pleased with...I finally used these stitched rub ons by Autumn Leaves which I have had for a very long time...but they are perfect with this Scenic Route paper and added a bit of doodling to the little flowers...the journalling is about treasuring all the good and bad baby things...And another page...started as a scrap lift of a page waiting for baby by Marie Grace Abuzman...with the scalloped doodling (which I did very badly...oh well) and I used up all my last jumbo photo corners...yay!And another one...very simple...I didnt dare write on the butterfly journaling spot in case I mucked it up...lol...so I left it as an embellishment!

It is the last day of the school term for us tomorrow....so I am planning lots of holiday activities...both girls still have colds but hopefully they will get over them soon. Hope you are having a good week - Lissy

weekend and scrapping....

A perfect combination ....well except for the heavy rain yesterday....I had to go out in the morning so got rather wet...but the rain is good...E had a play date at a friend's house in the morning and then they both came over to our place after lunch to play while Lara's parents went out for a bit...so she had a lovely day....
so I did some scrapping...I managed two pages...and I am pleased with these ones...they came together easily...Morganne's birth story is in the envelope. Then today we had my sister in law and the girls over...I took some photos....and later I did some more scrapping...I struggled with both of these for ages...I had ideas in my head but they didn't come together and I have a lack of embellishments at the moment...other than that lace paper...lol...which I am trying not to put on every layout!I have decided I do not like these white foam letters...but at least I managed to get them done... And that is it for the weekend...a busy week ahead and then school holidays which are always busy...Lissy

take photos...

We need to remember to take photos...of more than just the kids that is....Ben's grandma said to me once that there are no photos of her and her husband and three kids...so I have made sure we have had some family photos every so often...I do not think there are any of my parents, sister and I. A couple of year ago I was looking for a picture of my sister and myself and the only one I could find was about 20 years old...so a couple of Christmases ago I got Ben to take some of us...I wished I had done that with my family too...anyway here is a layout....I actually had to paint some chipboard letters....lol...I don't do that very often anymore! And I finally used the 7 Gypsies tape that I have had for ages! Here are the girls and Ben yesterday morning...Here is Morganne today at mum's place...poor little thing has a bad cold again (E has too) and is waking up every hour or so at night all blocked up and coughing...and is struggling to feed...but other than that she is very happy...and I am very tired!
We took mum to the airport as she is off to Portugal...
And a couple more layouts...simple ones yet again!

And look at this great poster Jodi of Ric Rac has made for her room instead of cleaning....Do Not Panic It Is Often Worse...it is done like an eye test chart...very clever...a great idea for my room....lol...Ric Rac had the tutorial for the little fabric bucket I made too...

Well I hope your weekend is starting well - Lissy

april already....

This year is flying isn't it....Morganne is 16 weeks old and a totally delightful baby...she loves sitting up...her head control is very good but obviously she cannot sit up by herself yet....she loves her play gym and loves to be involved in what E and I are up to...she is very vocal and can be quite loud when she is chatting away...she is sleeping pretty well at night...a few 5 - 6 hours stints are happening...and the rest of the time she is a pretty happy baby...and if she is grizzly the swing is perfect! She is grabbing onto things now and getting them into her mouth! She is growing fast but is still my gorgeous little baby...I made a very quick and easy fabric bucket from the tutorial on Ric Rac to keep Morganne's socks in...much cuter than anything I could have bought I think! It is only small about 20 cm high...not perfect but it will do the job!I have made a mini album with photos of the kids and family in it for mum to take on her trip to Portugal...she leaves Friday...it is the little album with a fabric cover which Kim Archer taught for Father's Day last year...super cute and simple...they are made with a credit card holder thing inside to put the photos in so only about 10cm long...E went on her first school excursion yesterday and was very excited....they went to Kalamunda History Village...she loved it...they did washing and ironing and made peg dolls...I didn't take any photos at school but a friend did on her phone...
And Ben is home...YAY! E came out dressed for school this morning! And she said that Daddy had to pick her up from school and go at watch her at dance this afternoon...he did both and she was so happy to see him! Please feel free to say hi in the comments...it is nice to know who is visiting :) Hope you are having a great week - Lissy
