from two months ago...I am not always scrapping...

Blimey...I knew I hadn't done anything for a while...here are a couple of old layouts...one done in May...And one I did in June from a class with Gigi Kennedy on Kim Archer's site...only did one page...oh well! Great class though...all about using ribbon and stuff! Always good to do a class and try something different to your usual style! So grand total of one layout in the last two months...And Ben thinks I am always scrapping...lol...I wish! Lissy

a ride on a sunday...

So yes we did go for a little ride on Sunday...down at the park along the river...we all really enjoyed it so there will be more in the future...Ben has gone back to work so I will try and go riding with the girls while he is away...but it is raining this week! Today looks fine though so maybe after school!

edited to add... Well wouldn't you know it...fine all day and it starts raining at school pick up time...so maybe a ride tomorrow!

We have a new addition around here...I won her in a lottery...Her name is Bubble...Evangeline is smitten and loves how you can change her eye colour! I said she was mine but she has been claimed by Evangeline...Morganne keeps saying she wants a pink one! I am going to start sewing some clothes!
We had little but very tall Imogen over on Tuesday...We went to play group and then she came here...Morganne loved having her to play! And her baby brother is so very cute! Even if he is not sleeping very much! Little Zachary is now four weeks old!And that is about all I have to report around here...I have lots of sewing and scrapping projects I want to get onto but forcing my self to have a good clean up and purge first...until my resolve crumbles...lol...have a good weekend! bikes...

We are getting ready for some family cycling....We went to get bike helmets for the girls this afternoon...

And came home with a new bike for Evangeline! She has one mum and dad bought second hand but is now too small...

The new one has gears and Ben spent more than he planned...lol...but she loves it and she has the gears sussed now! I would sooner spend the money on a decent bike than a Nintendo or something...
I have Ben's aunt's bike that we bought as she has not used it due to a knee reconstruction...with a bike seat for Morganne on the back from his sister...Morganne cried and was not at all happy at first...but warmed up...Ben has a old crappy thing but will upgrade soon!So we are off tomorrow on a family bike ride! But I may not be able to walk next week...Lissy

and what the girls have been up to...

While I was trying to get organised for the market on Friday...Evangeline and Morganne were busy outside...and yes it is the middle of winter here...Today we had Ben's sister and the girls come for a visit...and then we all popped down to the Guildford Markets...then the girls had a tea party...luckily their big cousin had cleaned up the huge mess in the playroom...and some yummy pumpkin scones from the market...And the plan for the next few days is not much at all...and then I must clean up the appalling mess in my scrap and sewing room...Lissy

women like to shop...

So I have discovered that women really like to shop...for themselves!

The market went quite well yesterday...I didn't sell out or make millions...lol...but I did learn a lot! Evangeline came to help me set up!

A few people bought scarves for children...but mostly it was women buying for themselves...

I had discovered that although they are shorter...my scarves are actually great to wear! I had a brooch but they actually sit ok by themselves due to the soft knit fabric...

A nice accessory that didn't hang down and get in the way...I felt very comfortable all day...it dressed up my tee shirt and pants without feeling too "frilly"as I am not a frilly or girly person!

I was wearing this...and had plenty of positive comments on it all day...And my mannequin thingy was wearing this...
So all the grey scarves (which I almost didn't make!) sold, the few brown ones I had, plus dark red and orange were popular too!

So now I have SO many ideas for new scarves...for women! Mainly becuase I have ideas of what I would like to wear!

I am going to venture into etsy soon too!

And I am researching to see that my ideas are not already being created and sold by someone else! So far mine are different but if you think not please let me know!

Stay tuned...Lissy

more scarves...

I am nearly ready for the craft market on Saturday!

Sharon took so many amazing photos of Evangeline and Morganne wearing them that I thought I'd share just a few more!

Two scarves worn together look good too! I am pricing them to sell...$A12 each or two for $A20...just long enough to wrap but not hang in the way of busy kids...They would also actually work as short scarf for adults...especially with a nice brooch or pin...I shall be listing some on etsy soon too when I open my "shop"...

I am sewing the last few...orange ones...of course Evangeline wants an orange one too! And there are several colours Morganne wants as well!

I hope to see you Saturday...details below...Lissy

mums group...

I have a great mums group...9 girls who first met with our babies 7 years ago...some have moved further away so we don't see them as much...but we still catch up pretty regularly...and many siblings later...for Mother's Day this year I was going to do a photo shoot(lol...nothing professional about this at all...just take lots of photos and hope for the best!!)...as we haven't done one for about 3 years...but it didn't quite happen then so 6 of us caught up today...and YAY the weather was actually good!

So here are some photos...first all the kids...not at all a good photo but least we have recorded them all together! And my friends and their kids...And my girls and me (thanks Megan!)And my fav photos from today...
Now back to scarf sewing as the market is on Saturday! Lissy

july so far...

Gee things seem to be really busy around here...some good...some not....

It has been COLD....0-2C at night...and about 15-18C days...yes I know...not that bad really but it is freezing for Perth!!!

Evangeline had her end of term coroborree (school assembly)...they modelled the costumes they designed and then partially made (with me!) at school! I went in each week to help them sew!My sister and family came for a few days as the school holidays have started...Ike had a sleep over...

Imi came for the day...
As this little man was making his appearance..welcome to Zachary born July 2nd! I popped over for a quick visit today...six days old!
That night Morganne had a trip to PMH emergency with concussion after having a collision with the kitchen cupboard...and now she is teething...getting her last two upper molars....

We went to Eden's 7th birthday party at High Fliers...E loved all the gym equipment! And then she went for a sleep over for two nights! And then Jess came for the day to play...

We had a sad start to the week having to attend the funeral of my friend Penne's mum who was tragically killed in a car crash last week...so very sad...she was the only friend who travelled to my dad's funeral which meant so much to me...she had travelled many hours by herself to come...I am so sad for her as I know what she is going through...

Ben is trying his hand at a bit of gourmet cooking...well he had cooked two things...lol...but both very yummy!
I am trying not to panic about getting scarves sewn for the market next weekend...

And we are off to the farm for a few days tomorrow...I will do some sewing there too! And YAY...it has been raining which is good for our gardens but more importantly good for the crops! Lissy
