busy december days...

December is always chaotic around here...end of school, birthdays, concerts, parties and so on...and this year is no different...here's a run down of the first few weeks of the month...Peace and Joy the Christmas Fairies have been visiting and leaving advent messages...E loves to get up and look for them in the morning...they move around the house after their nightly trip back to the North Pole to report to Father Christmas...then we read the message and hang the stocking up...We have had an Open Morning at school where we get to see Evangeline's work in the classroom...We have been to a fabulous Christmas Fair with Diana...To birthday parties...to the school dance..to the Guildford Festival where I was a Fairy for the day...We have put up a little Christmas tree with only handmade ornaments and the special one purchased by the girls each year on their visit to Santa)...mostly made by Evangeline over the last four years at playgroup and school... M loved the very serious business of tree decorating! But now we also have some decorations made by Morganne too at playgroup...All except the angel...maybe a good first sewing project for E next year...A last day at Suzuki Music for the year...and playing afterwards...A surprise thank you afternoon tea for Evangeline's teacher who is leaving...and an end of school assembly...and morning tea afterwards...and E has had lots of days in her new class...she is moving into Lower Primary where she will stay with the same teacher for three years...she has just finished three wonderful years in Children's House with Naomi who has been so amazing! I love the strong relationship children build with their teachers in a Montessori school. they usually only have 3 teachers for the entire primary years..and listening to this years graduates speak you can see how the teachers have impacted on their learning and development...I helped the class make magnetic Advent Calendars this year...they were studying time....And of course we had Morganne turn two and her last play group for the year...and E had her last speech therapy session! We have been out to see the Christmas lights...And a favourite photo from this morning....before we went to see Father Christmas in the city...I am late doing Christmas cards this year! And our visit to see Father Christmas...Ben had a terrible case of food poisoning and was sick for a week...and I have had major sinus problems and still do...it is driving me nuts...I am hoping it will clear up soon! If you have any miracle cures..lol...please share...And poor E has an ear infection...

And only one week to go...I have everything ready just about...I just need to wrap presents and get ready to go to the farm...after M's Rainbow Birthday Party on Sunday that is...I hope your December days have been busy and joyful so far...Lissy

and now she is two...

My goodness how two years fly! Can you remember the competition I had to see who got closest to her birth date and time! Well our gorgeous little scallywag is two today! And she has had a wonderful day! Evangeline and Ike helped her unwrap presents...such intense concentration! She loves this baby doll! It crawls and cries! And what all two year olds need and love...a sand pit...Evangeline gave her the sand play set...And a swim in the pool...great on a hot 37C birthday! And a meal out! She scoffed a plate of chips...and bopped away to the music...And she knew all about blowing out candles! Annica and Ike are staying for a couple of days so celebrated with us! Morganne is a real character and kind of hoppity skips every where now! And she sings ALL the time! She is very good at the actions and some words to "The Wheels on the Bus" and "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and a few others! And she is stringing 2 -3 words together now and trying hard to make herself understood...and so we are getting a few tantrums! She does not like being told no! But she likes to say "NO" or "MINE!" She loves to draw but unfortunately this usually involves herself and walls etc too! She loves dolls and babies! She loves "Play School" and she loves any musical instruments. And she likes to do things herself! But she is also a happy friendly little soul who generally likes to share! And she pulls the funniest faces! And she loves to join in with whatever Evangeline is doing! Happy Second Birthday Morganne! We love you to bits!

Stay tuned for the party in a week! Lissy

peace and joy...

Peace and Joy...two Christmas fairies have come to visit! I have heard about the Christmas Elf on the Shelf...but couldn't find any locally...so fairies it was!

Hello Evangeline and Morganne

We are Peace and Joy!

We are Christmas Fairies! We help the Elves!

December is here and there are 24 days until Christmas so we have come to stay for a while!

Our job is to watch children’s behavior and report it to Father Christmas each night.

Each morning we will return from the North Pole with a Christmas Message for you!

We like to move around the house so you will have to go looking for us!

You are not allowed to touch us but you can talk to us all you want!.

We fairies and elves do like to chatter and do not always remember what we are not allowed to say!

So we are under strict orders form Father Christmas not to talk to you in case we

give Christmas Secrets away!

Are you ready for some Christmas fun??

Love Peace and Joy

So we shall see what Advent Activities they suggest! E is very excited!

I have wrapped all our Christmas Stories in paper so we can open one each night to read! I have been collecting them for a few years and now have about 25! We opened two to read tonight!Stay tuned for the Christmas Fairy happenings! Lissy

sunday was a quiet day....

We were recovering from the party (see below)...Evangeline had her first swim of the season! And was busy writing to the fairies...Making fairy capes...Enjoying birhday presents...E got a lot or arty crafty things like water colour pencils which was great! Two sister creating together! And we enjoyed some pasta...So a nice quiet day! Lissy

the fairy party...

And the magical fairy party was a great success...and the weather was a nice 32C...we were under the shade of a big tree and the sea breeze was in...Evangeline loved her costume...As the girls arrived they got their fairy wing back packs that had their fairy skirts, wands, crowns and jewellery in...I had a few things organised like decorating the paper mache heart wands with jewels... Making fairy houses from paper mache pots...painted gold and some flowers to glue on... And pass the parcel...And some nail painting...But mainly Queen Evangeline and the fairy guests played around the garden! With about an acre to play in they had plenty of space to run and fly and make magic! And the fairy gate and the door kept opening and closing so this kept them busy! And of course some food in the fairy tent (I made this tent for a butterfly party when E was 3)...And the birthday cake - all pink! With Nissa the Birthday Fairy on top of course! Decorated by mum...Morganne had a ball too...So all lots of fun! I didn't make Ben dress up as Peter Pan....lolEvangeline keeps writing letters to the fairies so they have to keep sending replies! Now onto planning Advent activities which start today... and Morganne's second birthday which is going to have a Rainbow theme! Lissy
