a carp with a harp...

I have been getting very creative this week! For Evangeline's end of term school assembly today she was a "carp with a harp" (from Under the Sea...a Little Mermaid song as they have been studying marine animals and vessels)...after researching carps we found that Koi (goldfish) were also carps so this was handy as Evangeline wanted to be a gold fish not a grey green carp....

I was too busy with the retreat and snakes and stuff last week so Monday I dashed to Spotlight and found the perfect gold fish material and bits in about 10 minutes...then Monday night I made the carp costume in about an hour...and then Tuesday I whipped up a cardboard harp with the help of some gold paint and some wool!

And here she is! The Carp with the Harp!

All the costumes were amazing...clams, snails and all sorts!

After the assembly at Mussel Pool (part of Whiteman Park) there was a whole school morning tea...a nice way to end the term...

Mum came with us too and Morganne loved all the songs and copied the class doing "the Ants go Marching"!

And now we are on holidays for the next two and a half weeks! I am packing as we are off to the farm for Easter...And here we are at the end of March already! I am hoping this also means no more snakes for now...Lissy

Oh, you did an amazing job - I bet she was the best dressed child there! Have a safe trip to the farm and see you next week. Sharon xo
